Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Floating: Position will float between units
- On-call: Not required
- Weekend Requirement: One regular weekend shift per week
- Block Schedules: Not required
- Patient Load: Approximately 6 patients per 8-hour day
- Special Requirements: Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) experience preferred
- 48-hour shifts: Not approved

- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Any color for RN/Allied; scrubs provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, PACU, and Maternal Child units
- Parking: No fee
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable)
- IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other as applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (if applicable)
- State License and NURSYS Verification as applicable
- Tech Certification Verification for Allied Professionals (if applicable)
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM Check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- HHS/OIG Check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education Verification (3rd party) for all candidates
- State-specific searches as required (e.g., Oregon Abuse/Neglect, Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs in WA)
- Transcript/Diploma (if education verification is unperformable or international education)
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation (for Washington placements with out-of-state compact licenses)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit Mask Testing (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, or declination accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, or declination accepted
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests, no THC included)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination required during flu season
- COVID-19 Vaccine or declination required if onsite
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually
Competency & Skills Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit (minimum 80% score)
- Competency Exams as applicable by specialty
- Medication Aide Exam for CNAs with LTC specialty at Oregon Assisted Living facilities
- Skills Checklists updated annually for applicable units
References & Employment History
- Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs) in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format and explanation of gaps/overlaps
Facility Specific Requirements
- Floating Policy Acknowledgement: Traveler may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Badge Photo: Passport style photo with neutral background required
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp Modules (Core, Specialty, Regional, and Annual Regulatory) as assigned based on profession and region
- Epic Access Training Modules required for applicable candidates
- Providence System TB Questionnaire to be completed prior to start and updated annually
Notes
- IRF experience preferred but not mandatory
- No 48-hour shifts approved
- One weekend shift per week required
- Floating between units expected
- All certifications and background checks must be current and compliant with Providence Health and Services policies
- Health documents and vaccinations must be up to date as per Providence and state requirements
