Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Plantation, Florida

Unit Information

• Department: Speech Therapy
• Number of Beds: 250
• Speech Therapy Staff: 5 SLPs (Day shift only)
• Patient Caseload: Approximately 10-12 patients per day
• Equipment: MBS/fluoroscopy required
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Call Requirements: None

Required Qualifications

• Florida Speech Language Pathology License (Provisional licenses not accepted)
• ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)
• BLS (American Heart Association)

Typical Procedures

• Swallow evaluations (post-extubation, stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, altered mental status)
• Speech and language evaluations and treatments
• Dysphagia treatments
• Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies — must be fully proficient and experienced

Candidate Preferences

• Experience with adult/geriatric acute care population required
• Ability to work independently with minimal training on EMR
• Adaptable to a fast-paced acute care environment

• Dress Code: Light grey scrubs preferred; any solid color scrubs allowed
