Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ED)

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description

  • Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the Emergency Department scope of service.
  • Implement procedures and theories related to ED nursing practice.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
  • Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
  • Implement and modify care plans and nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healthy and healing environment.
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers to support professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for professional growth.
  • Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required; BSN preferred.
  • Illinois State RN License in good standing.
  • Current certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree (preferred but not required).
  • No additional preferred certifications specified.

This position is ideal for experienced ED nurses seeking a clinical nursing role in Illinois with a contract duration of approximately 13 weeks.
