Travel RN Med/Surg Position - Denton, Texas

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical
Location: Denton, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Night Shift)

Unit Information

Unit: Medical Unit 610
Beds: 46
Staffing:
- Total staff: Approximately 70
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 9-10 RNs, 4 CNAs
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Unit Secretary, 9-10 RNs, 4 CNAs
Patient Ratios:
- Day: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Night: 1 nurse to 6 patients
EMR System: Meditech
Floating Areas: Surgical unit, Emergency Room (to provide med/surg hold nurse capabilities)
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

Licenses: Registered Nurse License (RN)
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience:
- Must have previous med/surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Meditech EMR system

Work Environment & Expectations

Personality Fit:
- Willing to jump in and be a team player
- Able to ask questions when unsure of processes
Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling allowed within reason to maintain a balanced schedule
- Rotating weekends required

Additional Notes

No specific required certifications beyond BLS
Unit policies and guidelines available upon request
