Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
• Licensure: Pennsylvania license or Compact license in hand
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• No local candidates within 50-mile radius

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be renewed annually)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including:

  • SS Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender registry
  • Pennsylvania statewide (Patch Certificate)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)
• PA FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 1 year of start

Competency and Training Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units; annual certification required
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification accepted as MAB/CPI equivalent; annual certification required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Tdap vaccination within past 10 years (declinations accepted with facility form)
• Immunizations or declinations required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov-April)
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination required

Facility Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Medical surveillance checklist completion prior to start
• Vaccine declination forms if applicable (COVID, flu, MMR, HepB, Tdap)

References and Documentation

• Two professional references within 3 years of hire
• Annual skills checklist required
