Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 06:20 AM – 07:00 PM (Nights)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other holidays during contract
• On-call: None
• Patient Population: Includes telemetry patients and gender affirmation surgery patients (comfort with this population preferred, experience not required)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
• Float Requirement: Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• COVID-19: May come into contact with COVID patients
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (not provided)
• Preferred Experience: Cerner electronic health record system

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• Required Skills: Telemetry and Medical-Surgical nursing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Flu vaccine (mandatory) or approved exemption
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
  • Tdap within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and annually (client may complete onsite)

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist and competency exams (medication, pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG) required and must be current
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed prior to start date

Notes

• This facility requires all employees to have the flu vaccine.
• Candidates must be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including those undergoing gender affirmation surgery.
• No on-call duties required.
• Must be willing to float within units of similar or lower acuity.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a telemetry unit with a focus on critical cardiac rhythm interpretation skills and care for a diverse patient population in a well-established healthcare system.
