Travel RN ICU Position - North Richland Hills, TX

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU / CCU
• Location: North Richland Hills, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Weekend – Rotating, 7 PM to 7 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Call Requirements: No
• Scheduling: Every other weekend, overtime available
• Floating Policy: May float to other ICUs or rarely to PCU depending on volume and acuity

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU (650)
• Patient Acuity: Very high acuity unit with ECMO, heart transplant, CABG, and other complex cardiac care
• Procedures: Post CABG care, ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, multiple procedures performed via intensivist
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Certifications: Magnet hospital, Stroke certified, Beacon award winner unit

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience (higher of 1 year or 2 years required)
• Licenses: Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification
• Skills:

  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Ventilator management
  • Post CABG care
  • CPR
• Preferred Skills: Meditech experience, CVICU experience

Patient Care & Unit Policies

• Bedside shift report with updates to whiteboard required
• Professional behavior expected; rudeness not tolerated

Dress Code & Appearance

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails
• Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab
• Facial Hair: Must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings

Additional Notes

• This is a high-acuity ICU with advanced cardiac and surgical care
• Floating to other units may be required based on patient volume and acuity
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
