Travel RN Surgery Position - Cleveland, Ohio

Job Details

• Specialty: RN Surgery (Circulating Nurse for Operating Room)
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Employment Type: Travel
• Schedule:

  • 4 shifts of 10 hours each, Monday through Friday
  • Call required 1 day per week from end of shift until 7:00 AM the next day
  • One 24-hour shift on Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks
  • One late shift per week (end of shift until 7:30 PM) if a second room is needed
• Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• Valid permanent RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days of start, updated every 2 years with RN license renewal

Health & Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine (preferred, not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer
• Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer
• Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years
• Tdap vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct-Mar) or approved declination with mask-wearing and specific forms
• Fit Test completed within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire

Background & Verification Requirements

• Ohio fingerprinting and criminal background checks based on residency duration:

  • 5+ years in Ohio: Ohio BCI&I and FCRA-compliant national database check
  • Less than 5 years: Ohio BCI&I and FBI fingerprint check (FCRA-compliant)
• Social Security Trace (if not included in background check)
• Criminal Background Check within 6 months (includes national sex offender registry)
• OIG Exclusion Search within 6 months
• SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC clearance within 6 months
• National Database Criminal Background Check (for Ohio residents)
• Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party
• Education verification through third-party (international equivalency required if applicable)

Testing & Competency

• UHS Skills Checklist (clinical skill-specific, completed within 1 year prior to start)
• UHS Competency Exam (minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start)
• UHS Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; 80% passing score)
• Drug Screen (10-panel, completed within 60 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted)
• Physical/Health Statement (pre-employment exam within 1 year, must state ability to work without restrictions)

Documentation & Other Requirements

• UHS I-9 Attestation confirming eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Resume including education and work history
• Two professional references within last 2 years
• Job application and employment history form specific to the hospital system
• Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• UHS Badge Photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG format)
• Completion of Non-Employee Required Safety and Compliance Training modules prior to clearance (annual renewal)

This position requires a highly organized and credentialed RN with surgical circulating experience, able to work a rotating schedule including call and weekend shifts. Compliance with extensive credentialing, immunization, and background verification is mandatory.
