Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Elkhart, Indiana
Specialty: Stepdown - Flexible Acuity
Position Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Requirement: None
- Floating Requirement: Medical-Surgical (MS) level
- Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per 13-week contract
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience & Licensing
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Registered Nurse
- First-timers: Not accepted (hard stop)
- Locals: Not accepted; must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
- Pending License: Accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
Preferred Certification:
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
Background Checks
- Must include SSN Trace, state criminal checks for all states lived/worked in last 7 years, national criminal, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle report (if applicable).
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required.
Health Documents
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold within 1 year; T-Spots not accepted)
- TB questionnaire (prior to start and annually)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination prior to start (documentation required by 12/15 for working candidates)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (JPEG format)
- Completion of facility-required modules (~8-10 hours), due by 1 PM CST Friday prior to start (not required if worked with facility in past year)
- Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
- COVID vaccine medical exemption form if applicable
- Flu vaccine medical or religious declination if applicable

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses who meet the certification and licensing requirements and are comfortable working night shifts in a stepdown unit with flexible acuity.
