Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Setting: Ambulatory OR within Outpatient Surgery
Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and others may be required depending on specialty (refer to clinical track guidelines)
• State License verification required within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required)
• Education verification required (degree verification or official transcripts/diploma acceptable)
• Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, FACIS, and education verification
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, no pending results allowed
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test or chest x-ray (within 12 months) and TB questionnaire (updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Work Details

• Patient ratio: 13 rooms
• Electronic systems used: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color provided by facility
• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating required within OR departments
• Call requirements: Yes, late coverage to finish cases
• Holiday work expectations:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day

Orientation & Compliance

• Full compliance with documentation and requirements needed to start on time
• Non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager approval

Competency Exams & Facility Policies

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Color blind testing required; alternative assessment available if needed
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties (ER, ICU, Telemetry, etc.) with up to 3 attempts allowed
• Candidate must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start

• Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
