Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health/Psych) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Clarksburg, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health/Psych)
- Patient Age Group: Adults
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), weekdays, every other weekend
- Schedule Notes:
- Travelers fill in for shifts not covered by regular staff; block scheduling requests are not accommodated.
- Limit holiday requests off to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays.
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Certifications Required:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - can be obtained during orientation if not already certified
- First Aid - can be obtained during orientation if not already certified
- Scrubs Provided: Blue (Navy or Royal Blue)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Avatar
- Staff-to-Patient Ratios:
- Adolescent Unit: 1:8
- Adult/Forensic Units: 1:15-20 (depending on unit)
Important Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Fingerprinting:
- Must be completed in West Virginia at least 7-10 business days prior to start.
- Results take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start without results on file.
- This is a strict state requirement with no exceptions.
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal.
- Education verification or official transcript required (diploma not accepted).
- Drug Testing:
- 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable).
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual).
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
- Flu vaccination required for the season (10/01 – 03/31), with medical or religious exemptions accepted only upon facility approval.
- References:
- Minimum 3 professional references within the past 2 years required.
- Licensure:
- RN license verification via NURSYS within 2 days of submission.
- Primary source verification required.
- Other Documentation:
- I9 or attestation, government-issued photo ID, E-Verify proof or attestation, residency declaration if working on a compact license.
- Facility-specific forms including media consent, flu policy acknowledgement, background disclosure, infection control questionnaire, and onboarding modules acknowledgment.
- Orientation:
- CPI and First Aid training can be completed during orientation if not already certified.
- Paycom & Relias onboarding modules must be completed prior to in-person orientation; failure to complete may result in being sent home or contract cancellation.
Attendance Policy
- Strict on call-outs due to previous staffing challenges.
- Absences of 3 or more consecutive days due to illness or injury require:
- Doctor’s verification of illness.
- Medical clearance note before returning to work.
