Job Details
- Shift:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Patient Age Group: Adults, Adolescents & Pediatrics
- Floating: Will float to up to 5 additional office sites within a 15-minute drive in Mooresville
- Scrubs Color: Royal Blue
- Orientation: Bi-weekly
- Weekend Requirement: No
- On-Call Requirement: No
- First-Timer Friendly: Yes
- Flu Vaccine: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted
Experience & Licensure
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Epic experience is required
- Must hold a current NC or Compact nursing license
- BLS certification required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 or Attestation
- Valid Driver’s License or Government-issued Photo ID
- Social Security Card (if used for I9)
- Background Check (within 90 days, covering all counties lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 90 days)
- Education Verification (as applicable)
- OFAC Sanctions List Search (within 30 days)
- Physical Exam (within 12 months)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Polio (vaccines or titers required; no exemptions)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination (required for new candidates starting October-March; no exemptions)
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- References: 2 professional references from employment within last 12 months (at least 1 supervisor)
- Employment Application and Skills Checklist (updated annually)
Certifications (AHA Only)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all clinical/patient-facing staff
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Refer to unit requirements
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Refer to unit requirements
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Refer to unit requirements
- Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, NIH Stroke Certification) as applicable
Additional Notes
- Candidates must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
- Competency exams and unit-specific training required.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training provided during orientation for applicable units.
- All required online modules must be completed prior to orientation.
- Candidate must complete competency checklists within 3 weeks after start date.
- Floating may require travel to multiple office sites within Mooresville.
This position offers a structured schedule with no weekend or on-call requirements, suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience and Epic system proficiency. Compliance with extensive health, background, and certification requirements is mandatory.
