Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Job Details

• Position is for a tech, not a nurse
• Requires neuro experience
• Work schedule: Five 8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-call requirements: 1-2 call shifts per week and 1 call weekend per month
• Must have BLS and ARRT certification
• Virginia license required; can submit if pending with licensure in another state
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• ARRT certification (specific to Radiology/Cardiology techs)
• Virginia state license (or ability to obtain)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – verify with recruiter if applicable

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
• HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
• Education verification through a 3rd party vendor
• Fingerprinting via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check (effective 7/15/2025) – may be required depending on unit
• Abuse registry search required only for certain units (e.g., 5 East) and behavioral health roles
• Drug testing: 10-panel screen including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (no exemptions allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable; Tspot not accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire if past positive
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations accepted for Rubeola
• Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required; if low/negative, additional antigen titer required
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but must be documented
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (no exemptions)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of various forms prior to start (e.g., screening, release authorization, professional appearance guidelines)
• Fit testing for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if required
• Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (not required for techs)
• Radiation badge: New candidates must obtain badge from facility; existing badge holders grandfathered

• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Performance evaluations and skills checklists may be required if previously employed with the system
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for travel assignments
