Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Requires competencies in EP Lab & Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Day shift with 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
  • Weekends as needed; must be willing to stay until last patient is cared for
  • No call or holiday requirements
  • Floating as needed
  • Pre-screening by clinical team and manager interview required
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • EPIC experience required

Unit Information

  • Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs
  • 23 prep/recovery bays
  • Performs over 6,000 procedures annually including:
    • Complex coronary procedures
    • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
    • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
    • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
    • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
    • Cardioversion
    • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
    • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy
  • May care for COVID patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Schedule Requirements

  • 10-hour day shifts between 6 AM and 7 PM
  • Weekends as needed
  • No call or holiday shifts required
  • Must be willing to stay until last patient is cared for

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience
  • EPIC experience required

Return to Office (RTO)

  • Maximum 7 days

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year prior to start; must be finalized before start
  • Education verification of highest degree required
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • 2 professional references within 3 years required
  • Most recent resume/application required
  • Annual skills checklist required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) required; declination form required if applicable
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination accepted
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year and renewed annually

  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (for RNs and CNAs)
  • New Hire Orientation required by end of first day
