Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
- Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed (holidays generally none)
- Call: Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Floating: Not applicable
Unit Information
Unit: Invasive Cardiology
Description:
- 4 dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
- 23 prep/recovery bays
- Performs over 6,000 procedures annually
- Advanced cardiovascular treatments including:
- Complex coronary procedures
- Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
- Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
- Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
- Cardioversion
- Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
- Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy procedures

- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Skills: EPIC experience required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required, must be finalized prior to start
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required, can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
Health Documents
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Vaccines (2 doses) or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
Certifications & Competencies
- State license verification (primary source)
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required
Facility Specific Documents
- Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
- Review and sign facility policies including:
- Commitment to Health & Wellness
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Non-Employee Affidavit
- Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
- Completion of online Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start
- New hire orientation required by end of first day
History & Verification
- 2 professional references within 3 years
- Most recent resume or employment application
- Annual skills checklist
- Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment
Notes
- Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview before final approval
- Must be willing to stay until last patient is cared for
- Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
