Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Travel Position

Location: Houston, Texas

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
Number of Beds: 3 Rooms
Number of Staff: 11
Staff Type:
- Day Shift: 1 charge, 4 techs, 4 nurses (4/10 hour shifts)
- Night Shift: 3 on call
Patient Ratios: 3 staff per case
Equipment: Philips & Siemens
EMR Systems: Meditech and MacLab

Job Requirements

Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
Years of Experience Required: 1 year
Certifications Required:
- ARRT
- BLS
- ACLS
- RCIS (planning x-ray table required)
- Cath Lab Tech Certification
Skills Required:
- Interventional experience (mandatory)
Preferred Skills:
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience
- Neuro experience

Typical Procedures

PVI (Pulmonary Vein Isolation)
PPM (Permanent Pacemaker)
EPS (Electrophysiology Study)
LHC (Left Heart Catheterization)
PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
IR (Interventional Radiology) cases
Neuro procedures

Work Schedule & Environment

Some scheduled Saturday cases
On Call: At least 12 shifts per month
Dress Code: Surgical scrubs provided

Best personality fit: Willingness to educate young staff
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
