Job Overview
Seeking a skilled MRI Technologist with expertise in neuro, abdominal, and musculoskeletal imaging. The role supports both inpatient and outpatient imaging with a focus on oncology cases.
Department Information
- Average Daily Census: 35–40 cases/day
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Electronic Documentation System: EPIC
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years MRI experience
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- Valid Ohio State License
Required Skills
- Experience in Adult ICU, Adult Outpatient, and Pediatric Acute Care settings
- Proficiency in imaging:
- Abdominal
- Female & Male Pelvis
- Chest
- Brain
- Face/Neck
- Hip/Bony Pelvis
- Knee
- Shoulder
- Familiarity with PACS and Siemens equipment
Special Imaging Procedures
- Fusion (non-brain)
- Gradient Echo Imaging
- Image Post-Processing (ADC mapping, subtraction)
- Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP)
- Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP)
- Perfusion
- Spectroscopy
- Spin Echo Images
- Surface Coils
- T1 & T2 Weighted Imaging
- Spine Imaging: Cervical, Lumbar, Thoracic
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-Year Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start (including SS Trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide, sex offender, MVR if driving)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio codes
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- High school diploma or equivalent required for RRTs
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required for certain units
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ER and related units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required for L&D, Post-Partum, OB
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - required annually
- State License Verification within 30 days of start
- Competency exams including medication test/pharmacology and unit-specific exams
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start and updated annually
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire required annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Facility Policies & Additional Requirements
- Dress Code and Hand Hygiene Policy must be reviewed and signed
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and Compliance Policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually for new contracts
- Proof of fingerprint completion required (physical or photographic evidence depending on location)
This position offers a focused weekend night shift opportunity for experienced MRI Technologists with a strong background in multiple imaging modalities and oncology support. Compliance with extensive background checks, certifications, and health requirements is mandatory.
