Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Floor: 2nd, Main Building
• Number of OR Suites: 3
• Staffing:

  • 11 total staff members
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, 1 aide or anesthesia tech
  • Night Shift: 3-member call team
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3 staff members per OR
• Equipment: Open Heart, Vascular, Thoracic surgical equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

• Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Operating Room experience (mandatory)
• Punctuality with a 30-minute call-back time
• Flexible schedule

Preferred Skills

• Ability to scrub cardiac and vascular cases
• Experience with Meditech EMR

• Valve surgeries
• TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
• EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
• TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Fistula creation/interventions
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)
• Thoracotomy
• Fem-pop bypass
• Angiograms with interventions
• LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
• RVAD (Right Ventricular Assist Device)
• ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Level 2 trauma coverage for vascular and thoracic procedures

Work Environment & Culture

• Small, tight-knit team with long-term staff (some with nearly 20 years tenure)

• Scrubs provided (specific scrub color)
• Call requirement: approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week
• 3-person call team every night (2 RNs and 1 scrub tech)

• Located on the seacoast of New Hampshire
• Approximately 1 hour north of Boston and 1.5 hours south of the White Mountains

Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
