Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

Job Description
- Work in Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (no weekends)
- On-call: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (on-call/callback pay applies if cases run past 3 PM)
- No overnight, weekend, or holiday call
- Holiday time off requests during specified holidays will not be accommodated (Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day)
Required Certifications & Licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted
- Licensure: RCIS or RCES or ARRT RT (CI) preferred
Experience
- Must have experience in Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually
- Includes 7-year SSN trace with complete address history, aliases, sex offender registries, criminal searches, abuse registries, and federal/statewide/international checks
- Alias Name Attestation required if applicable
Health Documents
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (Chiropractor not accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; chest x-ray if prior positive TB
- TB Questionnaire required
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or titer or declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Flu vaccine required for 2025-26 season (no declinations accepted; exemptions only for medical/religious reasons)
- Drug testing within 45 days of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, opiates, etc.) with MRO signature
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Competency Exam (Core Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for RNs, minimum 80% pass rate within 12 months)
- Color Blind Testing within 12 months prior to start (Ishihara or online test)
Additional Certifications (as applicable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D, OBGYN, Mother & Baby units
- NIH Stroke Certification (for RN candidates)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - preferred for ER and Psych
- Tech Cert Verification - National (e.g., ASCP for Clinical Lab Scientists)
- State License Verification and NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start
Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
- Completion of onboarding attestation and review of onboarding documents
- Job description acknowledgment required, especially if gap >30 days or switching facilities
- Background Check Alias Name Attestation if applicable
- MMR documentation upload required
History & References
- 2 supervisory references from past 3 years required
- Employment application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days
- Nursing license details must be current and active
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated within the last year
Summary
This is a travel/contract position for a Radiology/Cardiology specialist with a 13-week assignment in Knoxville, TN. The role requires experience in cardiac cath and EP labs, specific certifications (BLS, ACLS), and strict compliance with background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams. The schedule is Monday through Friday with on-call evenings but no weekends or overnight shifts. Holiday time off during major holidays is not accommodated.
