Surgical Technologist (Neuro Specialty) - Fargo, North Dakota
Job Overview
- Position: OR Tech (Surgical Technologist)
- Location: Fargo, ND
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Facility Type: Large acute care hospital with 25 OR suites
- Average Cases: 75 to 100 surgical cases per day
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of surgical tech experience
- Strong neuro surgical experience required
- Experience in a busy acute care facility with more than 15 OR suites
- Experience with robotics in the OR
- Experience with at least one of the following orthopedic/implant systems: Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, or Stryker total replacements
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Must be on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at least one week prior to start (proof of initiation of application process required within 3 business days of offer acceptance)
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred
Job Duties
- Assist surgeons and healthcare team members in providing effective surgical care
- Primary focus on neuro cases, but also assist with orthopedics, ENT, plastics, general surgery, and some trauma cases
- Perform surgical and operating room duties according to established policies and procedures
Schedule
- 8 to 10 hour shifts
- Call 1 to 2 days per week
- Call every 3 to 4 weekends
- May need to stay late as needed (extension of regular shift, not call back)
- Weekend shifts typically 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, no call
Additional Information
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
- Travel restrictions: No travelers living within 60 miles of the facility accepted
- Candidates living 60 to 80 miles away may be considered with a reduced local travel rate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
