Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Milford, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details

- 24 bed unit: 18 telemetry med/surg beds, 6 PCU step-down beds with thoracic focus
- Schedule:
- Weekly schedule:
- 2 shifts of 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- 1 shift of 8 hours (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM)
- Patient Ratios:
- Day & Evening: Med/Surg 4-5:1, PCU 3:1
- Night: Med/Surg 6:1, PCU 3:1
Requirements
- Licensure: Permanent Massachusetts RN license in hand
- Experience:
- Previous medical/surgical experience required
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience preferred but not required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- Medication Exam (Pass/Fail Testing) required for all RNs
- Telemetry Exam required for RNs working in telemetry units (including L&D)
- Other certifications may be required depending on specialty/unit (check specific details)
Compliance & Documentation
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
- 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start (annual update required)
- Education Verification (highest completed education)
- NURSYS Verification (RN license verification) within 30 days prior to start
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
- Immunizations and Declinations as applicable:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination (most recent vaccine required)
- TB Testing:
- Two PPDs (1 within 90 days, 1 within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days
- TB Questionnaire required for all candidates
- References: 2 references within 3 years of start
- Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Candidates must pass medication and telemetry exams with a minimum score of 80% on the first day of orientation to avoid cancellation.
- Declinations for certain vaccines may not be accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU units.
- Compliance with facility-specific documentation and background checks is mandatory.
