Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
• Shift:

  • Day Shift: 7 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
• Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
• Float Requirements: Must float as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: 3+ years in Respiratory Therapy (higher value between 2 and 3 years applied)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in tertiary, teaching hospital
  • Level 1 trauma experience
• Preferred Skills: NICU/PICU, Cardiothoracic experience

Certifications Required:

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU

Unit & Patient Information

• Number of Beds: Varies depending on daily assignments; coverage across entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
• Patient Ratios:

  • Acute care: 1:25
  • Critical care: 1:8
• Equipment Used:

  • Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
  • Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
  • Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
  • Airvo, Vapotherm
• EMR System: EPIC
