Travel Dietitian Job Opportunity

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Seeking a Licensed Registered Dietitian for a travel assignment as a Weight Loss Specialist. The role involves providing clinical and public health nutritional assessments, education, and counseling to patients individually and in groups. The Dietitian will develop nutritional programs and diet modifications tailored to patient needs and promote healthier lifestyles.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Shift options: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm OR 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
• No call or weekend shifts required
• Flexible hours possible with half days on Thursday and Friday (36-40 hours/week)

Unit Information

• Location: 4th Floor, Weight Loss Specialist Unit
• Number of Beds: None
• EMR System: EPIC
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Service, Community Health, or related field (Required)
• Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) license (Required)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian (Highest required years of experience)
• Preferred: Bariatric experience

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional needs and develop dietary care plans
• Counsel individuals and groups on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and disease prevention
• Educate patients and families on nutritional principles and diet modifications
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare personnel regarding patient nutritional needs
• Facilitate group sessions for weight reduction and control
• Provide nutritional counseling on special diets

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling (1-25 lbs)
• Frequent reaching, handling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination
• Work environment includes noise but no exposure to blood/body fluids or infectious materials
