Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit Name: 2 West
• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Staffing: 2-3 techs per shift, clinical coordinator (varies), charge nurse, manager, director
• Floating Policy: Will float between 2 North and 2 West units
• Scheduling: No guaranteed block scheduling; every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Documentation System: Editech
• Equipment Used: Wound vac, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanner, feeding pump, telemetry

Required Skills & Certifications

• Certifications: BLS required
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Required Skills:

  • IV starts
  • NGT (nasogastric tube) placement
  • Wound care
  • Cardiac rhythms
• Advanced Skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Procedures Performed: Lab draws, IV starts

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience in Specialty: Minimum 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Work Environment & Culture

• Dress Code: Navy scrubs only; no fleece or sweatshirts
• Patient Experience: Positive attitude required; meet patient and family needs, perform service recovery as necessary, escalate issues through chain of command
