Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit Type: 6 Front Telemetry, Medical Surgical, Trauma
• Number of Beds: 33
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5 to 6 patients per nurse
• Typical Procedures:

  • Small Incision & Drainage (I&D)
  • Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Thoracentesis (infrequent)
• Equipment Used: EKG, Code cart, Welch Allyn vital machines, Vascular Doppler, wound vacs, Cultura Link interpreting services, Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring (used during push meds like metoprolol)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Candidate Requirements

• Must Have:

  • BLS & ACLS certifications
  • Ability to pass Basic Rhythm test
• Preferred:

  • Experience in Medical Surgical nursing
  • Strong patient focus
