Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position
Location: Portland, Maine
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 21 weeks
- Number of Openings: 24
- Shift:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
- Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
- Float Requirements: Must float as RRT with some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute, and critical care
Experience & Education Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 3+ years in Respiratory Therapy (highest stated requirement)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications Required:
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- NRP required for NICU experience
Unit & Patient Information
- Facility Type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center
- Number of Beds: Varies depending on daily assignments; coverage across entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
- Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8
- Type of Patients: Varied, including NICU/PICU, cardiothoracic, acute pediatrics, adult acute, and critical care
- Equipment Used:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo and Vapotherm
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Desired Skills & Personality Fit
- Must Have: Experience in tertiary, teaching hospital, and Level 1 trauma settings
- Preferred: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience
- Personality: Flexible, team player, excellent communication skills
