Job Opportunity: Dietary Services (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Weekend/Part-time, 2 shifts per weekend (2 x 8-hour shifts on Saturday & Sunday)
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (unit accepts first-time travelers)
• Holiday Work:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
• Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
• Orientation: Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate

Required Credentials & Compliance

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check required within 30 days of start (including criminal, sex offender, education verification)
• Education verification of related degree required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
• Verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
• 2 clinical references required

Certifications (as applicable to specialty)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, Tech Cert Verification, State License verification, NURSYS verification
• Note: Some certifications may be preferred or required depending on specialty track; verify with clinical lead if unclear

Competency Exams (if applicable)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs and LVNs)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (for Nursing and Allied)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for certain specialties)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols for past positive TB)
• TB Questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Facility Policies

• Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement prior to start
• Must review Dress and Professional Appearance Policy

• Floating within facility as needed
• No call responsibilities
• Orientation hours vary by contract length
• Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time

This position is suitable for healthcare workers with at least 2 years of experience in Dietary Services and who are open to weekend, part-time travel assignments without prior travel experience required.
