Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Weekend shifts every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 1 year (Unit does not accept first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (implied by "Unit does not accept first time travelers")
• Holiday Work: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, expected to work both; if 3 holidays, expected to work two of them.
• Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation schedule; full compliance required to start on time. Delays in compliance push start by 2 weeks.
• RTO (Return to Office): Maximum 7 days

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties including ER, PACU, Critical Care, etc.
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs (except some specialties like Microbiology Techs and Med Techs).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, ER, and other pediatric-accepting areas.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required depending on specialty.
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire for applicable staff.
• State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia.
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start.
• Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable.

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya.
• Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed.
• Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related specialties. Three attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months of start; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test.
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates.
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required.
  • Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination required.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions.
• Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).

Additional Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more.
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start).
• References: Two clinical references required by Aya.
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually within 12 months.
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
• Facility Policies: Candidates must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start.

• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks).
• Candidate profile reviewed by manager within 48 hours after confirmation to ensure fit.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of clinical experience and prior travel contract experience, who are comfortable working weekends and holidays as required.
