Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Newnan, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Patient Diagnoses include but are not limited to: Stroke, COPD, AKI, Chest Pain, Diabetes, COVID, Pneumonia, and General Medical-Surgical cases
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Holidays
- If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it
- If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work both
- If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
Orientation & Compliance
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties; check specific unit requirements
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), or ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required depending on specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia RN license required)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by Aya for RNs)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (required by Aya for Nursing and Allied Health)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Education Verification: Verification of related degree required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Transcript/Diploma: Required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
- Driver’s License/State ID: Photo ID required
- References: Two clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months of start; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be pending if not yet eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be pending if not yet eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); vaccination strongly encouraged
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
This position offers an opportunity for registered nurses with at least 1 year of experience to work in a diverse medical-surgical environment with a variety of patient diagnoses. Prior travel experience is not required.
