Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel)

Location: Lewiston, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Interact with patients (all age groups from newborns to geriatrics), physicians, nurses, patients' families, and co-workers.
• Provide patient education about radiation therapy and help ease patient apprehension.
• Set up patients accurately for radiation treatment and explain treatment procedures.
• Perform daily warm-up and checks of treatment machines and simulators; report any issues.
• Position patients properly for simulation using immobilization devices.
• Produce radiographs for simulation and safely tattoo treatment areas when applicable.
• Maintain audio and visual contact with patients during treatment.
• Schedule patients for daily treatment and ensure treatment marks are maintained.
• Monitor and report adverse reactions to RN or Radiation Oncologist.
• Ensure Radiation Oncologist sees patients weekly during treatment.
• Verify weekly weight checks and perform portal localization films as prescribed.
• Conduct weekly chart checks to ensure prescription compliance and proper documentation.
• Maintain treatment and simulation rooms, including stocking supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Assist with patient transport and provide necessary patient assistance.
• Attend all required hospital and departmental in-service programs.

Requirements

• Certification: Must have ARRT certification (attach to resume).
• Certifications: Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience: Must have experience using Elekta equipment.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Radiation Therapy specialty.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
