Travel RN Opportunity - Dallas, Texas

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Location: Dallas, Texas
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Unit: Oncology ICU (7ES)
  • Number of Beds: 10
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters (no techs)
    • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse and nurses as needed (no techs)
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1
  • Equipment Used: Ventilators, CRRT, A-line, Bipap, Flow-track, IV pumps
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year ICU experience
  • Must Have:
    • Strong ICU experience
    • Titrating drips
    • Caring for patients on ventilators
    • Bipap patient care
  • Preferred Skills:
    • CRRT experience
    • Transplant experience (Kidney, Pancreas, Liver)

Certifications & Licenses

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
  • Registered Nurse License

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Typical Procedures: Care of critically ill patients including total care, turning, titrating drips, dressing changes, trach care
  • Personality Fit: Compassionate, team player, good rapport with physicians
  • Floating Areas: All ICUs, PCU, BMT
  • Dress Code: Blue scrubs
  • Shift Times: Report at 0645 and 1845, clock in/out for lunch
  • Schedule: Rotating weekends
