Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Rotating shifts:

  • 07:00 - 19:30
  • 11:00 - 23:30
  • 19:00 - 07:30
• Rotation cycle typically every 4-6 weeks
• Every other weekend required
• No floating to other units for ED RNs
• No local candidates within 75 miles
• PA or compact nursing license required and must be in hand
• Trauma experience preferred
• Cerner electronic health record system used

Required Certifications

• CPR
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be renewed annually)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must meet passing score)
• Competency Exam (must meet passing score)

Additional Required Training/Certifications (for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units)

• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (annual certification required; online training acceptable)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certificate (annual certification required; online training acceptable)

Licensure & Verification

• Primary source online verification of state license required
• NURSYS verification required for RN license
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal search within 1 year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Vaccinations or facility-specific declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declining
• COVID vaccine or declination required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this location)

Background & Compliance

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (PA Childline) within 1 year of start
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• Photo for badge (passport style, no filters)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet, medical surveillance checklist, and bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Completion of vaccine declination forms if applicable
