Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical exam, and diagnostic data.
• Delegate, supervise, and evaluate team members while managing urgent or emergent situations.
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
• Complete Safe Surgery checklist verification using service excellence standards.
• Accurately and timely document all care information.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff, including duties within or outside the sterile field.
• Prepare the operating room and position patients for procedures.
• Serve as communication liaison to family and operating team members.
• Participate in assigned call schedules.
• Assist in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Perform circulating duties efficiently and quickly.
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational participation.
• Utilize computer programs relevant to patient care delivery.

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Licenses:

  • Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start.
  • Primary source verification of license/certificate as per state registry.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ACLS (AHA only)
• Health Requirements:

  • MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab report (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab report (no declinations accepted).
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab report (no declinations accepted).
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): First test within 1 year, second within 30 days of start; negative Q-Gold or Tspot within 90 days prior to start also accepted.
• Other Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
  • Social Security Card.
  • Criminal background check including county, statewide, national search, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, and education verification within 60 days of start covering last 7 years.
  • Employment verification for the past 5 years.
  • 10 panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (rapid drug screen not accepted).
  • Completion of clinical skills checklist prior to start, updated annually.
  • Submission of resume/profile required prior to submission.
