RN Cath Lab - Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Job Details

• Specialty: RN Cath Lab
• Location: Sioux Falls, SD
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4-10 hour shifts, varying start times (05:30-16:00, 06:30-17:00, 07:30-18:00)
• On Call:

  • 1 call per week
  • 1 call weekend every 3-4 weeks
  • 30-minute response time
  • May be required to take holiday calls (Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Unit Size: 8 fluoroscopy rooms, 2 procedural rooms, averaging 30 patients per day

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years cath lab experience
• Education:

  • Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
  • Graduation from an approved nursing program acceptable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Licensure:

  • Active RN license in South Dakota or Compact state license
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Other:

  • Must badge in and out at facility
  • Scrubs provided (Ceil Blue)

Job Duties

• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during procedures
• Circulate in a sterile environment
• Perform procedures including:

  • Left and right heart catheterizations
  • Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs)
  • Temporary and permanent pacemakers
  • Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs)
  • Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs)
  • Cardioversions
  • Venous ablations
  • Peripheral vascular angiograms

Equipment Used

• Pyxis medication system
• XIM (Philips monitoring system)
• Epic electronic health records
• Xcelera imaging system
• Ultrasounds
• Angiojets
• EKOS machines
• Acist contrast injection system

Orientation

• 4-6 shifts depending on experience
• Focus on charting and physician equipment preferences

Additional Notes

• Candidates must note if they have previously worked for the facility; a 6-month gap is required before reapplying
• Candidate may be placed on a mandate list to fill any vacant call not picked up
