Travel Nurse Opportunity: 7W Stepdown - West Virginia (Morgantown)

Unit Details

• 32 total beds (12 Stepdown, 20 Floor)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • Floor: 1:4 to 1:6
• Charge nurse available per unit; House Supervisor always available
• Nurse aides: 4 aides when fully staffed for 32 beds
• Telemetry available; RNs must read strips alongside telemetry monitor techs
• Respiratory therapy equipment managed by RTs (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)

Patient Population

• Typical MedSurg diagnoses including:

  • Chest Pain
  • COPD
  • Altered Mental Status (AMS)
  • Pneumonia
  • Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Overflow for most services
  • Hospice patients (patients may be transitioned to GIP Hospice on 7 West)

Certifications Required

• BLS Certification

Skills & Experience

• Experience or specific skills required: Not explicitly stated
• RNs must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown unit; Floor unit manages PCAs, heparin, etc.
• RNs must be able to read telemetry strips

Scheduling

• Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per schedule
• Holiday requirement: Work integrated into permanent staff holiday schedule
• Floating: May be required to float to any floor or stepdown unit

Dress Code

• Royal Blue scrubs

Orientation

• Night shifts orientation available Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
