Job Details

• Shift: 48-hour shifts, 4x12 hour schedule
• Start Dates: January 12, January 26
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (team nursing model)
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• On-Call: As needed
• Block Schedule: Not open to block schedules; weekend block may be considered upon discussion
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience required (strict)
• Special Requirements:

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Large hospital experience required
• First-time travelers: Not accepted

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except at Children's Hospital
• Other Certifications:

  • PALS not required for this facility's ER
  • TNCC preferred for ER but not required

Licensure

• Tennessee RN license required or multistate license under NLC
• Must be in compliance with NLC guidelines

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including: statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations required:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit mask test: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current (within 1 year)
• Photo for badge with strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses with glare, no filters, etc.)
• Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidery, business casual with lab coat for case managers
• Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start

Additional Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) requests must be included at time of submission; late RTOs will not be approved
• No acceptance of candidates with pending licenses or local candidates outside the 100-mile radius
• Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be considered

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with trauma and large hospital experience who have prior travel assignments and meet strict licensure and certification requirements.
