Sonographer Travel Position

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied - Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring comfort and clear communication.
• Perform ultrasound procedures, monitor patients throughout the process.
• Set up equipment and administer procedures efficiently.
• Review prior reports, images, and patient charts carefully.
• Ensure completeness and quality of studies, notify readers as appropriate.
• Maintain records, logs, and inventory control for assigned area.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experienced Sonographer skilled in performing high-quality Adult Echocardiography studies following ASE & IAC Guidelines.
• Dedicated inpatient echo work experience required, with documentation of at least 200 inpatient echocardiography cases.
• Proficient in valvular assessment, strong spectral Doppler, and Pedoff skills.
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
• Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond quickly to critical findings.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) and Stress Echo.
• Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
• Knowledge of TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols.
• Experience maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
• Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems.
• Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.

Education & Certifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program.
• Required Certifications:

  • Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS or CCI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
