Description

Job Opportunity: OR - RN General

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience (higher value confirmed)
Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 trauma status
Experience working in an acute facility with 15+ OR suites (outpatient center experience not accepted)
Experience with robotics, DaVinci preferred
Strong skills in general surgery and ENT
Experience with general surgical cases, GYN, Urology, laparoscopic procedures
Some experience with Neuro/Ortho procedures and navigation

Licensure & Certifications

BLS Certification required
RN license in North Dakota or Compact license

Job Duties

Circulating nurse responsibilities including:
- Sterile prepping of surgical sites
- Catheter insertion
- Opening sterile supplies
- Positioning patients for surgery
- Documenting in electronic medical records
- Setting up and utilizing operating room equipment
Equipment used includes:
- Computerized charting modeled after EPIC system
- Accudose, cautery, lasers
- Laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment

Work Schedule & Shift Details

8 to 10 hour days, with possible extended hours (not considered call back)
Rotating PM shifts with all staff
Call required 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends
May float rarely to other campuses (Broadway or South University)

Unit Details

25 OR suites
75 to 100 cases per day on average
Nurse to patient ratio: 1:1

Additional Information

Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
Candidates living 60 to 80 miles away may be considered with a reduced local travel rate
Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if yes, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
