Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (MRI Tech)
Location: Colchester, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Urgent need with ASAP start
- Assignment up to 13 weeks
- No call required
- 1-2 weekends per month, flexible scheduling required
- Must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day
- Monday to Sunday shifts, no block schedules
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA certified)
- ARRT or ARMRIT license required
- MR advanced licensure required
- ACLS and PALS may be required depending on unit/job
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Radiology/Cardiology)
- Phillips MRI equipment experience required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required (non-negotiable)
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior Travel Experience:
- Preferred but not explicitly required
- Other:
- Must be flexible with schedule
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (no public transportation available)
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April
Orientation & Scheduling
- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays (next available date provided by recruiter)
- No block scheduling allowed
Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification required based on job
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- NURSYS verification for applicable professions
- Criminal background checks specific to Vermont and New York as applicable
Certifications & Competencies
- Tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
- Color blind testing required
- Competency exams as required by specialty/profession
- Annual HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgements
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- N95 Fit Mask test required prior to start and updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months, updated annually
- Annual TB questionnaire if positive TB test
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) with medical/religious exemptions accepted (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination required if assigned to New York facility
- Drug testing as required (mostly for NY facilities)
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete and explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- Provide full work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type
- Photo for badge (passport style, plain background, no logos or hats) required two weeks prior to start
- Review dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
- Complete auto registration form within 48 hours of signed contract
- Complete COVID testing protocol on Day 1 if required
- Complete EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)
- Sign Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry Consent Form
- Complete emergency contact form
- Complete Hep B and Pneumonia vaccination declination forms if applicable
- Set up NameTag verification and Workday information attestation
References & History
- Two professional references verified from assignments within the last 3 years
- Employment application required
- Skills checklist within 12 months required
- Verification of 2 years of most recent clinical work history
Additional Notes
- Public transportation is not accessible in the area; reliable transportation is essential
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with advanced MR licensure, Phillips MRI experience, and recent Epic experience, who are flexible with scheduling and able to commit to a 13-week travel assignment in Vermont.
