Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)

Contract Length: 52 weeks (flexible; travelers may request between 14-52 weeks)


Job Details

  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU); specific unit determined by facility need after clinical evaluation
  • Shift: 3x12 hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • 4x12 shifts available upon request
  • Patient ratio: Currently 1:5 (goal is 1:4)
  • Floating: All travelers expected to float as needed within their acuity level
  • EPIC experience required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, etc.)—verify as applicable

Licensure & Verification

  • Valid state nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs within 30 days of start

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)

  • Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
  • Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
  • Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Orientation safety manual review (not required for inpatient RNs)
  • References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
  • Employment application/resume required
  • Annual skills checklist update required

Notes

  • Travelers must be prepared to float within acuity levels as needed
  • Start date and contract length are flexible within the 14-52 week range
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience is mandatory
