Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/LTAC

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: ICU / Long Term Acute Care (LTAC)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: Yes, traveler may need to float within scope to meet facility needs or float between like units
  • Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
  • Locals Accepted: No (50-mile radius rule)
  • First-timers Accepted: No
  • Pending License Accepted: No
  • Return to Work Restrictions: Per manager's discretion
  • Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
  • Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Contract Limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for specific units (L&D, FCCU, NICU)
  • NIH Stroke Certification – Must be updated annually
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing – Required for all ICU and related units
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Must pass with 80% or higher; 3 attempts allowed with remediation required after failures

Competencies

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Required annually; must score at least 80% to pass
  • Advanced Dysrhythmia required for all RNs

  • Hepatitis B – vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
  • Varicella – titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
  • Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval and must be resubmitted annually
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

Additional Notes

  • Locals within 50 miles are not accepted for this travel position
  • Return staff must have been off assignment for at least 1 year
  • System limits travelers to 2 contracts with one extension allowed; after that, a 6-month break is required before returning
  • Floating between like units may be required to meet facility needs

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable with weekend shifts and floating within similar units.
