Travel/Contract Job Opportunity: Dietary Services

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Dietary Services

  • Weekend Requirement: One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) once a month
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience Required: 1 year (Unit does not accept first-time travelers)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required (implied by "Unit does not accept first time travelers")
  • Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment
  • Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
  • Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Photo ID: Driver’s License or State ID required
  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • References: Two clinical references required
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)

Certifications (If Applicable)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain specialties; check if applicable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Generally required except for some tech roles
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for some RN specialties if applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for some specialties if applicable
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire if applicable
  • State License Verification: Must be current and verified within 30 days prior to start
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
  • Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable

Competency Exams (If Applicable)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya only
  • Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
  • Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for certain specialties; up to 3 attempts allowed

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; chest x-ray if prior positive test
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
  • Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted for this unit.
  • Compliance with all documentation and certification requirements is mandatory to avoid delays in start date.
  • Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice.
  • Holiday work expectations apply depending on the number of major holidays during the assignment.
