Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Fayetteville, North Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

- Facility Type: Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
- Unit Highlights: RN will float within scope to meet facility needs and may float between like units.
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend

- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating block scheduling
- Locals Accepted: No (50-mile radius rule)
- First-timers Accepted: No
- Pending License Accepted: No
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler.
- Contract Limit: System has a 2 contract limit (can only extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return.
- Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed.
Required Experience

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
- NIH Stroke Certification - Must be updated annually (required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care)
- Competency Exams:
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Must be completed via Relias and renewed annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs.
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures.
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for multiple units including ICUs, Med Surg, Telemetry, Step Down, Radiology, etc.
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable.
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcript accepted if verification unavailable.
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start.
- Immunizations & Health Screenings:
- TB Screening: Required annually regardless of results.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Vaccine within last 10 years required.
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; declinations not accepted for new candidates.
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted.
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval; must be completed by November 10, 2025, for 2025-26 season.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but accepted if available.

- Candidates must be prepared to float within their scope to meet facility needs.
- The facility uses Epic for charting.
- Scrub colors: Royal blue and white.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with required certifications who are comfortable working in a long-term acute care setting with some floating responsibilities and weekend coverage. Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted.
