Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Fayetteville, North Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures
Background and Health Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
- Immunizations and Titers:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms; must be completed by November 10, 2025 for 2025-26 season
- TB Screening: Required annually regardless of results; includes negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive PPD within 5 years

- Orientation: Candidates should plan to be in orientation for most of the first day (Monday) and will receive their schedule during orientation

- Scheduling: Weekend work every other weekend required; floating between units expected
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler; only 2 contracts allowed before a 6-month break is required
