Travel RN Opportunity - Danville, Virginia
Position Summary
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
- Document patient care provided.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
- Evaluate learning needs and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

- 250-bed Academic Community Hospital.
- Region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
- Comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour Emergency Department.
- Home health & hospice agency, advanced wound healing center, cardiac rehabilitation center.
- Two cath labs, one day surgery center, medical and radiation oncology.
- Located in Danville, VA, a small town with city offerings, situated by the Dan River with 680 acres of parks and trails.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Acute Care experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
