Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Permanent


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Apply the nursing process to patient care.
  • Teach patients and significant others.
  • Document patient care in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.
  • Respond effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations.
  • Use computer systems for documentation and communication.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Effective English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs.
  • Effective teaching skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and basic computer use.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oregon.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained by the last day of the month after a 6-month grace period.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in Critical Care.
  • Recent acute care hospital experience preferred (within past 5 years).
  • Acute care hospital experience in the past 2 years or intermediate/progressive care experience preferred.
