Job Opportunity: Social Worker (Behavioral Health) - Travel Position

Location: Michigan City, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit: BHU (Behavioral Health Unit)
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios: 1 Social Worker to 10 patients
• Patient Population: Adult psychiatric patients only (no adolescents or geriatric)
• Common Diagnoses: Acute depression, psychosis, mania
• EMR System: Epic
• Equipment: None specified

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with inpatient behavioral health
• Discharge planning
• Communication with patients and families
• Running therapeutic groups
• Contributing to a therapeutic environment

Additional Requirements

• Must complete de-escalation training (such as CPI) on-site at the first available class
• Dress code: Appropriate business casual; no open-toe shoes or inappropriate casual clothes
