Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Position: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
• Required Experience: 2 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
  • ARRT R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Radiography) - required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferred
• Skills Required:

  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures
  • Cardiac stent placement
  • Diagnostic catheterizations
  • Laser-assisted procedures
  • Scrub procedures including STEMI
  • Temporary pacemaker placement
  • IVUS/IFR/FFR (Intravascular Ultrasound, Instantaneous wave-Free Ratio, Fractional Flow Reserve)
• Shifts:

  • Either 06:30-17:00 or 07:00-17:30 depending on first case start time
  • 11-12 call shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends on call
• Scrubs provided

Required Licenses & Certifications

• State License (Missouri or Compact License as applicable)
• BLS (AHA BLS certification required)
• ACLS (AHA RQI certifications acceptable) - preferred
• ARRT R certification
• Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • 7-year county residence/work history
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender search
• State-specific background checks for Missouri candidates (MO EDL Search, MO FCSR results)
• Drug screening within 12 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation (annual requirement)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (chest x-ray within 5 years if positive PPD)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (for new candidates)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (renewed annually)
• COVID vaccination preferred

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific modules and orientation checklists required prior to or during orientation
• Cath Lab AbioMed Impella Online Training required annually
• Respirator fit testing and OSHA Respiratory Clearance required prior to start (except certain non-patient facing roles)
