Travel RN Opportunity - Overland Park, Kansas

Position Details

• Unit Size: 32 beds, 49 staff members
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 unit secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1 unit secretary (until 10 pm)
• Patient Ratios:

  • 1:4 with Total Patient Care (TPC)
  • 1:5 with PCT, occasionally up to 6 patients with PCT
• Equipment: Welch Allen devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the RN specialty

Skills and Qualifications

• Must Have:

  • BLS certification
• Preferred:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Basic Dysthymia class

• Total joint replacements
• Complex spine care
• Complex neurosurgery cases
• General surgery

Work Environment and Culture

Floating Areas

• Medical/Telemetry
• Surgical Specialty floor

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs (top and bottom) or black scrub bottoms allowed

Schedule

• Rotate every 3rd weekend
• Night shifts may include Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
