ER Nurse Travel Assignment - Savannah, Georgia
Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Location: Savannah, Georgia
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Unit: ER/ED (50 beds/trauma bays)
- Trauma Level: STEMI Receiving, Primary Stroke Center
- Patient Volume: Approximately 120 patients per day
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: At least 6 weekend days/nights in a 6-week schedule (about every other weekend)
- Holiday Requirement: Based on department needs
- Call/Standby: None
- Floating: No floating required
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
- Orientation: Unit-specific orientation during the first week of the contract
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience in a hospital of comparable size and acuity
- Experience must include care for STEMI and stroke patients
- Must have successfully completed at least 1 prior travel contract (prior travel experience required)
Licensure
- Georgia or Compact nursing license
Additional Unit Information
- Fast Track available
- Separate triage area where travelers may be required to perform triage
- ER holds are intermixed within the ER
- 2 separate psych/seclusion rooms
- 24/7 in-house security housed in the ER
- Paramedics and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) support nursing staff
- Respiratory Therapy (RT) available 24/7 (RT handles vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow; RNs troubleshoot)
- RNs required to read and save their own cardiac monitor strips (Spacelabs monitors)
- X-ray and CT available in ER with dedicated techs for transport
- No phlebotomy performed by RNs in the ER
Candidate Requirements
- Must live outside a 100-mile radius from the facility to qualify as a traveler
- Experience must be from a hospital with similar size and acuity level
This assignment offers an opportunity to work in a busy, high-acuity ER with a focus on cardiac and neurological emergencies, including STEMI and stroke care, in a supportive team environment with flexible scheduling options.
